The National Meteorological Center has issued several severe warnings for the continuing strong cold front. The cold spell has reduced temperatures across most of China and will continue to affect the country over the weekend.
East and Central China will see temperatures fall by between 6 and 10 degrees, but North and Northwest China will see temperatures fall by as much as 14 degrees. Moderate snow and rainfall is expected across the country.
Strong winds will hit northern China, and gales are expected in coastal areas of eastern China. Parts of the Yellow River in northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region are likely to freeze. In Beijing, evening snowfall on Friday caused traffic jams.
