Five people were killed and nine others injured when two trucks crashed into a roadside house in south China's Guangdong Province on Monday night, local authorities announced on Tuesday.
A dump truck suffered a brake failure and rear-ended another dump truck, pushing it into a roadside residential house in Jiexi County of the city of Jieyang at around 8 p.m. on Monday, according to municipal publicity officials.
Two people died at the scene and three others, including one of the trucks' drivers, died after treatment failed in hospital, they said.
Police are investigating the accident.
Jiexi county, located 400 km from the provincial capital of Guangzhou, is an underdeveloped area in eastern Guangdong.
