Aaron Kwok, Tony Leung Ka-fai and Andy Lau were in Beijing for an August 14 press conference to promote their crime thriller "Cold War".

Rising stars Aarif Lee and Eddie Peng also attended the event.

Lau told reporters he'd originally planned to play the lead role but later declined due to family concerns. "One year ago, they invited me to play the lead role," Lau said. "At that time, many things happened to my family, so I quit. But I promised the directors I would play a cameo role as long as they worked in Hong Kong."

The production company also announced that the flick will hit the mainland's screens in October. It is slated for release in Hong Kong on October 18.
