The iconic Palace Museum in Beijing is also looking at ways to capitalize on the digial age. At Beijing Capital International Airport, a new video display area has been set up, providing passengers a window into Chinese culture.
A dozen video clips about classic Chinese culture are being played in the area for travellers as they wait to board their planes. By using high tech equipment, passengers can take a look at rare exhibits, typical Chinese paintings and calligraphy from the Palace Museum, and also participate in some interactive activities. They can also get some information about the history, cultural background and productive techniques of the items. All the videos have both Chinese and English versions.
