After an easy win of 70-51 over Australia at the final, the Chinese team won the Stankovic Cup for the first time at their home here on Sunday.
With an average taller build, the Chinese team outperformed the Australians under the basket in the first half. China gained 23 rebounds in the first two quarters, nearly double the number of Australia's. The first half finished at 34-18 with China being the leading side, at which China maintained the lead in the second half and ended the game at a lop-sided victory.
The game's top scorer is China's Yi Jianlian, who scored 14 points. He was also crowned as the MVP of the Cup.
Australia's Blanchfield and Bairstow scored 11 and 10 respectively to lead the Australia's scoring players.
"We did a good job. We could not win 10 games in a row in the past two years and this is the first time we can do so," China's coach Bob Donewald Jr. said.
As regards the final squad list for London, Donewald said he still hasn't decided yet.
China has been holding the Stankovic Cup for eight consecutive years and this is the first time the hosts claimed the title. China won all the four matches at the Cup.
Tunisia came third after defeating Russia by 80-51. Tunisia led Russia throughout the whole game with three players scoring double digit.
