With the continuous deepening of China's opening up and the increasing improvement of China's internationalization, foreign affair is now playing a more and more important role. Many foreign guests are invited to China for the purpose of visiting friends or relatives, travelling, conducting business meetings, working or studying. All these involve the process of applying for a Chinese visa. In order to avoid unnecessary troubles, foreign guests are reminded to pay attention to the following matters.
Please pay attention to ENTER BEFORE and ENTRIES to avoid illegal entry
ENTER BEFORE refers to the cut-off date (before 24:00, Beijing Time) a visa holder may enter China since the date of issuance of the visa. ENTRIES refers to the number of times a visa holder can enter China within the period of ENTER BEFORE. Before the visa cut-off date, if the ENTRIES is not used up, travelers can re-enter China. However, a visa that has passed its ENTER BEFORE date is invalid regardless of whether the ENTRIES is used up or not. A new visa is needed for re-entry in that case. Generally, ENTER BEFORE of a visa is three months starting from the date of the visa's issuance. If the traveler's plan to visit the Chinese Mainland first then to Hong Kong or Macao and return to the Mainland again, they need to apply for a visa with two or more ENTRIES.
Please pay attention to the DURATION OF EACH STAY to avoid overdue fines
DURATION OF EACH STAY refers to the maximum number of days a visa holder can stay in China during each entry. Some foreign guests did not pay attention to the DURATION OF EACH STAY or forgot to handle visa extension procedures after overstaying, and were punished for a large amount of fine by the frontier inspection authority when they left China. Therefore, if foreign guests plan to stay in China longer than their DURATION OF EACH STAY, they need to apply for extension of stay at the local public security organs before the visa's expiration date. However, this extension application might not be approved every time. It is also necessary to remind the travelers that if they are in China and send their passport abroad to re-apply a visa at the Chinese embassies abroad to avoid overstaying fine, they will not be issued for a visa since such actions are not allowed.
