  WASHINGTON, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Two weeks after winning his second term, U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday pardoned the National Thanksgiving Turkey at an annual festive ceremony in the White House, jokingly offering the birds "a second chance."

  Back from his Asian tour, Obama showed up with his two daughters in the Rose Garden of the White House ahead of the Thanksgiving Day which falls on Thursday. The White House's tradition of presenting a National Thanksgiving Turkey dated back to over six decades ago and pardoning one started from nearly five decades ago.Full story
