A sow gave birth to the two-faced piglet on the morning of September 5 in a village in Jilin Province. In total, the sow bore 12 piglets, 10 healthy, one stillborn and this oddity pictured.
The sow’s owner, 56-year-old Li Zhenjun, has raised more than 100 pigs, including more than 10 sows.
He said that during the sow’s previous two litters, all of her piglets were completely normal.
The male piglet, named “Xiaobo” by the Li family, is too weak to fight with its siblings for its mother’s milk, so it has been bottlefed by Yu Wanfen, Li’s wife, who reported that it can use both mouths to feed.
Villagers are already coming from far and wide to view the strange specimen.
“We hope the pig can survive well into adulthood,” Li said. “It’s already a miracle it has survived this long.”
