HONG KONG, Nov.17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale jolted Kuril Islands at 2012-11-16 18:12:39 GMT on Friday , the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 29.10 km, was initially determined to be at 49.2690 degrees north latitude and 155.4724 degrees east longitude.
