Why China not to get involved in 'Cold War'?

The 21st century should belong to Asia. The rise of China and Asia would surprise the West and promote world peace, predicted Zhou Enlai, the first Premier of the People's Republic of China, in 1971.

Although the Cold War ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union, China's rise and success just benefit from socialism that promotes Chinese people to unite and strive.

It is certain that China adheres to socialism. Only socialism can save and develop China. After more than 30 years of reform and opening up as well as sustainable development, China's economic aggregate ranks second in the world; and the socialism with Chinese characteristics is full of vitality.

Thus, the statement of "China Threat" spreads quietly and the rumor of "Reopening Cold War" sensationalizes. For example, Margaret Thatcher said, "The Cold War was over… but communism is not yet, it is in China."

Lugar, former chairman of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs, said flatly that, "The United States and the Soviet Union have striven for hegemony in the past five decades, and that would happen between the United States and China in the next fifty years ". The West who does not believe the socialist China can rise but now doubts China will open a cold war with it.
China, who is keeping to the socialism and developing stably, will not contend for hegemony or open a cold war with anyone.

What China faces now are both rare development opportunities and challenges. Therefore, she must concentrate her force on promoting modernization and focus on solving the issues related to development and people's livelihood.

The fact that China adheres to peaceful development is decided by determinants and endogenous motivation, based on her basic national conditions and cultural traditions, as well as her fundamental national interests and long-term interests, and the development trends and objective laws. To make a firm and strategic choice is not to convince or please someone.

Adhering to socialism, China was not the absolutely irreconcilable opponent of the Western world during the Cold War period, but follows the trends of economic development, integrates into the world market system. And China is also committed to expanding the convergence of various interests at different levels, building a community of interests in the process of globalization, and thus fighting for an external environment of peaceful development for herself and promoting world peace with her development at the same time. Of course, it is not a socialism that opens Cold War with someone.
