The late U.S. pop superstar Michael Jackson's parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson, and a number of other entertainers have reacted to a Los Angeles jury's guilty verdict in Conrad Murray's trial which was reached after less than nine hours of deliberations on Monday afternoon.

Katherine and Joe are "ecstatic" with the verdict. They told TMZ.com that "Justice has finally been served."

"We have been waiting for this moment for a very long time and we couldn't hold back tears of joy in the courtroom," they said. "Even though nothing can bring back our son, justice has finally been served!"

"We can't wait to go home and share this day with Michael's children," the pair added.

Other Jackson family members and some Hollywood entertainers have also expressed their reactions to the widely-expected verdict.

"VICTORY!!!!!!" is what LaToya Jackson, sister of the pop icon, used on her Twitter account to describe her feelings.

"Michael I love you and I will continue to fight until ALL are brought to justice! Thank you EVERYONE for your love and support! It will ALWAYS be appreciated!" she said.

CNN anchor Piers Morgan twitted: "Whichever way you viewed the evidence, #ConradMurray 's behavior was clearly unethical for a doctor. Right verdict."

Al Sharpton, a Baptist minister and a friend of Jackson, has this to say: "Murray's conviction is just a down payment for the family of Michael Jackson."
