YANGON, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese cultural troupe's performance under the title of "Culture of China Festival of Spring" premiered at Yangon's National Theatre on Wednesday, sending New Year greetings to the Chinese community in Myanmar.
The cultural troupe, organized by the China Overseas Exchange Association, presented a variety of dances, songs, instrumental music and magic show.
The artists' performance attracted and moved the audience, winning waves of applause.
Director of the cultural troupe Li Mingjia said the whole performance was designed to make the audience feel the charm of Chinese culture.
Chairman of the Chinese Chambers of Commerce Wu Jiyuan told Xinhua that such cultural exchange activities provide a window for the next generation of the Myanmar-Chinese to learn more about China.
U Htet Myat Aung, a local artist, expressed delight over the invitation to watch the cultural show, expecting more chances will be available for such exchanges between Myanmar and China.
A Myanmar girl dance "Wu Dong Chuan Shuo" is one of the special programs added to the Myanmar visit.
Li Chao, a dancer, said the program was practiced for three months, hoping to draw near the distance with the local audience.
During its Myanmar visit, the Chinese cultural troupe will also attended cultural exchange parties with students of Yangon University of Arts.
After the Myanmar stop, the cultural troupe will proceed to Indonesia and the Republic of Korea for more performances.
